Mezes is excited serve Gyros at Michigan Stadium. Mezes serves Greek food like you find in any authentic Greek home, which made us think about other types of houses.

‚ÄčThere’s truly no need to decide whether you celebrate an authentic Greek or American Independence Day since they each find themselves to be a good three months apart on March 25 and July 4 respectively.

Mezes’ tagline has been “Authentic Greek Food Made By Authentic Greeks!” But what does it mean to be ‘authentic’ in the melting pot that is America? The concept of “authenticity” can trace its history back to ancient Greece.

If you’re looking for an authentic Greek restaurant we might start with the origins of the word ‘restaurant’. From the Old French restorer, French restaurant simply means "food that restores," it is a noun use of present participle of restaurer "to restore or refresh."
